Contingency planning for information systems is part of an overall organizational program for achieving continuity of operations for mission/business functions. Contingency planning addresses both information system restoration and implementation of alternative mission/business processes when systems are compromised. Performing contingency planning on hardware, software, and firmware development can be an effective means of achieving information system resiliency. Contingency plans reflect the degree of restoration required for organizational information systems since not all systems may need to fully recover to achieve the level of continuity of operations desired.
If the system does not support a minimum of 96 Voice Video endpoints, this is not applicable. Review the contingency plan for the Voice Video system that addresses essential missions, specifically communications priority for mission-critical decision-making users of the DISN Voice Precedence service. The contingency plan must include considerations for DISN Voice Precedence service as follows: - Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) sufficient to support requirements; (eight hours for Flash/Flash Override; two hours for Immediate/Priority for DISN Voice Precedence); - Network infrastructure redundancy to support assured services; - Geographically diverse pathways for location WAN connections; - Session manager on location and sustainable WAN connections; and - Voice video endpoints and session managers support AS-SIP. If the contingency plan for the Voice Video system that addresses communications priority for mission-critical decision-making users of the DISN Voice Precedence service does not fully support this service, this is a finding.
Develop and document a contingency plan for the Voice Video system that addresses communications priority for mission-critical decision-making users of the DISN Voice Precedence service. The contingency plan must include considerations for: - Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) sufficient to support requirements; (eight hours for Flash/Flash Override; two hours for Immediate/Priority for DISN Voice Precedence); - Network infrastructure redundancy to support assured services; - Geographically diverse pathways for location WAN connections; - Session manager on location and sustainable WAN connections; and - Voice video endpoints and session managers support AS-SIP.
