Organizations consider the types of auditing to be performed and the audit processing requirements when allocating audit storage capacity. Allocating sufficient audit storage capacity reduces the likelihood of such capacity being exceeded and resulting in the potential loss or reduction of auditing capability.
Review the CDR policy and supporting documentation for the CDR storage requirements. The CDR storage requirements must allocate CDR storage capacity sufficient to keep at least one year of records. The allocation may be solely on the Voice Video CDR storage system or combined with off-loading portions of the records to a long-term system of storage. If the CDR policy or supporting documentation does not allocate CDR storage capacity sufficient to keep at least one year of records, this is a finding.
Develop and document in the CDR policy or supporting documentation the allocation of CDR storage sufficient to keep at least one year of records.
