Assigning static addresses to core VVoIP devices permits tighter control using ACLs on firewalls and routers to help in the protection of these devices.
Inspect the configurations of the VVoIP core components to confirm they are statically addressed. In the event the core VVoIP device is configured to use DHCP, inspect the configuration of the DHCP server to validate that it provides the same IP address for each given core device when requested.
