During the initial setup of a Transport Layer Security (TLS) connection to the application server, the client sends a list of supported cipher suites in order of preference. The application server will reply with the cipher suite it will use for communication from the client list. If an attacker can intercept the submission of cipher suites to the application server and place, as the preferred cipher suite, a weak export suite, the encryption used for the session becomes easy for the attacker to break, often within minutes to hours.
Verify BEMS has been configured to remove all export ciphers: 1. Find the xml file "jetty.xml" located in the BEMS install directory on the BEMS host Windows server. 2. Find the "ExcludeCiphersSuites" field. 3. Verify if any export ciphers are listed in the "jetty.xml" file. If BEMS has been configured to use export ciphers, this is a finding.
Configure BEMS to remove all export ciphers. 1. Find the xml file "jetty.xml" located in the BEMS install directory on the BEMS host Windows server. 2. Find the "ExcludeCiphersSuites" field and remove all export ciphers. 3. Save file. 4. Restart the BEMS server.
Lavender hyperlinks in small type off to the right (of CSS
class id
, if you view the page source) point to
globally unique URIs for each document and item. Copy the
link location and paste anywhere you need to talk
unambiguously about these things.
You can obtain data about documents and items in other
formats. Simply provide an HTTP header Accept:
text/turtle
or
Accept: application/rdf+xml
.
