SV-46099r1_rule The Lightweight User Datagram Protocol (UDP-Lite) must be disabled unless required.

Vulnerability discussion

The UDP-Lite is a proposed transport layer protocol. This protocol is not yet widely used. Binding this protocol to the network stack increases the attack surface of the host. Unprivileged local processes may be able to cause the system to dynamically load a protocol handler by opening a socket using the protocol.

Check content

If there is no UDP-Lite protocol handler available for the system, this is not applicable. Determine if the UDP-Lite protocol handler is prevented from dynamic loading. If it is not, this is a finding.

Fix text

Configure the system to prevent the dynamic loading of the UDP-Lite protocol handler.

Pro Tips

Lavender hyperlinks in small type off to the right (of CSS class id, if you view the page source) point to globally unique URIs for each document and item. Copy the link location and paste anywhere you need to talk unambiguously about these things.

You can obtain data about documents and items in other formats. Simply provide an HTTP header Accept: text/turtle or Accept: application/rdf+xml.
