Vulnerability discussion

LDAP can be used to provide user authentication and account information, which are vital to system security. The LDAP client configuration must be protected from unauthorized modification.

Check content

Determine the certificate authority file and/or directory. # grep -i '^tls_cacert' /etc/ldap.conf For each file or directory returned, check the permissions. # ls -lLd If the mode of the file or directory contains a '+', an extended ACL is present. If the file has an extended ACL and it has not been documented with the IAO, this is a finding.

Fix text

Remove the extended ACL from the certificate file. Procedure: For each certificate file found remove all extended permissions # setfacl --remove-all
