Vulnerability discussion

Office 2016 applications do not check the digital signature on application add-ins before opening them. Disabling or not configuring this setting may allow an application to load a dangerous add-in. As a result, malicious code could become active on user computers or the network.

Fix text

Set the policy User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Microsoft Project 2016 -> Project Options -> Security -> Trust Center -> "Require that application add-ins are signed by Trusted Publisher" to "Enabled".

Pro Tips

Lavender hyperlinks in small type off to the right (of CSS class id, if you view the page source) point to globally unique URIs for each document and item. Copy the link location and paste anywhere you need to talk unambiguously about these things.

You can obtain data about documents and items in other formats. Simply provide an HTTP header Accept: text/turtle or Accept: application/rdf+xml.
