Vulnerability discussion

If a user's files are group-owned by a group where the user is not a member, unintended users may be able to access them.

Check content

Open a terminal session and enter the following commands to view the group ownership of the user’s directories and files. ls -l /Users (shows users directory) ls -lL /Users/ If any directory or file is not group owned by the user or a know users group, this is a finding.

Fix text

chgrp

Pro Tips

Lavender hyperlinks in small type off to the right (of CSS class id, if you view the page source) point to globally unique URIs for each document and item. Copy the link location and paste anywhere you need to talk unambiguously about these things.

You can obtain data about documents and items in other formats. Simply provide an HTTP header Accept: text/turtle or Accept: application/rdf+xml.
