Vulnerability discussion

The ability to set access permissions and auditing is critical to maintaining the security and proper access controls of a system. To support this, volumes must be formatted using the NTFS file system.

Check content

Run "Computer Management". Navigate to Storage >> Disk Management. If the "File System" column does not indicate "NTFS" for each volume assigned a drive letter, this is a finding. This does not apply to system partitions such the Recovery and EFI System Partition.

Fix text

Format all local volumes to use NTFS.

Pro Tips

Lavender hyperlinks in small type off to the right (of CSS class id, if you view the page source) point to globally unique URIs for each document and item. Copy the link location and paste anywhere you need to talk unambiguously about these things.

You can obtain data about documents and items in other formats. Simply provide an HTTP header Accept: text/turtle or Accept: application/rdf+xml.
